Here I am..finally a blogger.It has taken me a few weeks to get used to this blogging thing and collect my thoughts so here it goes.
Music and theater have always been a huge part of my life but for some odd reason I have not been in any productions since high school back in 19??.. anyway I had never heard of DLO or even been to any productions. I know right was I hiding under a rock or what. But the day that the ad was in the paper I knew I had to audition it actually sparked something in my spirit, it took me back to those days of high school musicals and Mrs.Lindavahl, (yes she was my chorus and show choir director for many years) it brought a smile on my face that could not be removed.
My goodness I did not know what to expect during the audition and yes I was nervous..why I don't no because I sing every week in front of hundreds of people, but this was different this was much more than that this was going to be the start of a journey that I was about to take with people that I have never met and didn't quite know if they would like me or even if I would like them but WOW was I wrong!
Day one of rehearsal was mind blowing and dirty and hot and etc... but we did it..together as a community and I got to see all kinds of people's reaction to this task and I have to say for the most part it was all good we accomplished our first task together and from then on that's where it all began for me. This group of people that I am spending 3 days a week with are becoming a part of my very own "community" I choose to be there because there is a genuine love for these people and there is something we are going to achieve together and the end result will be FANTASTIC!!
For me reading through the script was very eye opening as Jesse would say don't just read the words but LISTEN, so I did and it has been powerful ever since. Rent is becoming a part of me I can't wait for rehearsal days I find myself telling everyone about what goes on during practices its awesome!
It is an honor and a privilege to be part of this amazing cast and I am looking forward to this journey that we are going through together as one COMMUNITY!
